Summary:

The Payroll Manager will oversee the payroll operations for the Company, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance with local regulations and enhancing employee satisfaction through efficient payroll management. Based in Sydney CBD, the Payroll Manager will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s financial integrity and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure timely payment of salaries and resolve any payroll discrepancies.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and resolve any issues related to payroll.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and direct an outsource payroll provider as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, preferably within the utilities sector.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements in Australia.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
