Description

We exist to Shape Great Australians.

At Emu Gully, that’s not a tagline — it’s the reason we show up every day. We run adventure education and youth development programs that genuinely change young people. Schools come to us because what we do works. And it only works when the whole operation runs well.

That’s where you come in.

About the Role

We’re looking for a part-time Facilities Assistant to be part of our close knit team at our Tamborine site — a stunning 66-acre property near the Albert River, about an hour from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

You’ll keep the site clean, safe, and ready for every client group that walks through the gate. That means everything from conducting site checks and maintenance, to helping reset the property between camps and supporting the team on the ground during program delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Keeping the site looking great — accommodation, grounds, activity areas, amenities, shared spaces
  • Identifying and escalating maintenance or safety issues before they become problems
  • Assisting with repairs, painting, fencing, landscaping, land care, and general site upkeep
  • Preparing the site for incoming groups and resetting after they leave
  • Supporting catering, program, and facilities teams during camps
  • Managing tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe and organised way
  • Pitching in wherever the team needs you.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need a long resume. You do need to be the kind of person who notices when something’s not right and fixes it without being asked.

Beyond that:

  • You take pride in your work and care about the detail
  • You’re reliable — your team can count on you
  • You bring a positive, can-do attitude even when the day doesn’t go to plan
  • You’re comfortable working outdoors and getting your hands dirty
  • Experience in facilities, maintenance, grounds, or a similar role is a bonus
  • A current driver’s licence is essential

Who We Are

Emu Gully is an adventure education organisation with sites at Helidon and Tamborine. We work hard, we don’t take ourselves too seriously, and we genuinely love what we do. Our culture is built on ownership, quality, and looking out for each other.

If you want a role where your work directly contributes to young Australians having experiences that shape who they become — this is it.
