Design and Construction Manager

We’re looking for a Design & Construction Manager to lead the delivery of new stores, refurbishments and evolving store concepts across our network. While the role will predominantly support The Coffee Club, you’ll also have the opportunity to work across our broader portfolio, including exciting new brands and store designs as the business grows.

Who are we?

Minor DKL Food Group is a leading Australian retail food franchisor and the Australian subsidiary of Thai-listed Minor International PCL. Our portfolio includes The Coffee Club and Veneziano Coffee, with a network of more than 400 stores across 11 countries and over 5,000 people.

For 35 years, The Coffee Club has been a much-loved part of the Australian café landscape and has grown to become one of the world’s largest Australian café chains.

What is the role?

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you’ll lead our Project Management and Retail Design function and oversee the design and construction of new stores, refurbishments, and other network projects.

This is a highly influential role with the opportunity to shape how our stores look, feel, and operate. You’ll partner closely with property, marketing. franchise partners, designers, builders, and internal stakeholders to bring new concepts to life and deliver commercially sound, high-quality projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and develop the Design and Construction team
• Oversee new stores, refurbishments and other network projects from design through to delivery
• Shape practical, commercially viable store designs that bring our brands to life
• Partner with Property to support new site development and future network growth
• Manage project budgets, programmes, risks, contractors and consultants
• Build strong relationships with franchise partners and key stakeholders while improving how projects are delivered

The role may require national and occasional international travel, with some flexibility to travel at short notice.

Who are we looking for?

You’re an experienced design, construction or project delivery leader who combines strong commercial judgement with a practical, solutions-focused approach. You know how to lead a team, manage a varied project portfolio and bring people together to achieve great outcomes.

You will bring:

• Significant senior-level experience in construction, design, development or project management
• Experience delivering retail, hospitality or other multi-site construction and fit-out projects
• Strong capability across project delivery, budgets, programmes, contractors and consultants
• Well-developed commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Sound knowledge of Australian building and construction requirements
• A relevant tertiary qualification in construction, project management, architecture, design, property or a related field
