We have got an exciting opportunity for Casual Lecturer (IT and Cybersecurity) to be part of our team at UniSC Adelaide in our Adelaide office.

The Casual Lecturer (IT Discipline) ensures the quality delivery of assigned units/subjects and contributes to the development of units/subjects in conjunction with the Academic Lead UniSC Adelaide academic staff; and will ensure units/subjects are delivered as per the requirements of the UniSC compliance and quality assurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality lecturing/tutoring to students in accordance with UNISC curricula.
  • Create an engaging learning environment for students to meet learning outcomes and satisfactorily complete their assessment tasks and subjects.
  • Provide timely feedback to students to assist in their learning and participate in moderation and finalisation of results/grades.
  • Manage MyLo (UNISC’ learning management system) for your subject/s
  • Identify students who are ‘at risk’ of failing a unit and assist them via the appropriate referral to Academic Lead/Academic Skills
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions
  • Provide ongoing student support both face-to-face and online through email/ MyLo online learning management system.
  • Assure the quality of the assessment and examination processes.
  • Adhere to UNISC Adelaide policies and procedures. 
  • Ensure The University of the Sunshine Coast courses are delivered in compliance with all legislative and quality requirements, particularly those prescribed by the ESOS Act.
  • Participate in range of UNISC scholarly activities in order to enhance the learning environment

As the successful candidate you will ideally have:

  • Desirable: PhD in ICT/Cyber Security.
  • Must have Masters in ICT/Computer Science with 5+ years of teaching experience at tertiary level.
  • Strong track record of publications in high-quality scientific journals or other dissemination venues in ICT/Cyber Security
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively using evidence-based pedagogy and promotes student engagement
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with students and staff
  • Ability to carry work in highly collaborative team environments
  • Ability to carry out administrative duties effectively and efficiently as directed by line manager
  • Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion, and ability to contribute to the diversity of the school community.
