About The Role
As Lead Strategist, you’ll be the strategic heartbeat of your client pod, leading strategy across performance, growth, and profitability. You’ll work with a Creative Strategist, Media Buyer, Project Coordinator, and Visual Creators, to execute strategy that drives profitable and sustainable growth.
Your role combines growth strategy, financial insight, and leadership. You’ll guide your team and clients through forecasting, campaign planning, and growth optimisation, while your Creative Strategist counterpart owns the messaging, visuals, and creative direction. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives on working as part of a world-class creative team.
What You’ll Do
1. Growth & Profit Strategy
- Lead the growth strategy process, developing plans, forecasts, and testing roadmaps that aim to attract new customers and profitably scale our brands.
- Collaborate with the Creative Strategist and media teams to test, refine, and evolve messaging and visuals across channels.
- Champion profitability, forecasting, and commercial rigour in all strategic outputs.
- Bring bold ideas to the table, balancing strategic innovation with conversion-driven execution.
2. Performance & Media Direction
- Build and present strategic growth plans that connect financial performance to business outcomes.
- Oversee paid media direction across social and search, with a focus on new customer acquisition and sustainable scaling.
- Use data and performance insights to drive decisions that reduce nCPA, and maximise MER, CLTV, and profit margins.
- Identify opportunities for growth through offer optimisation, funnel improvements, and unit economics.
3. Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead a dedicated pod of media buyers, creative strategists, and account leads—driving clarity, collaboration, and accountability.
- Mentor your team with a balance of commercial insight and strategic discipline.
- Contribute to playbooks, frameworks, and internal best practices that raise the bar for the entire agency.
4. Client Partnership
- Act as the primary growth advisor and strategic partner for your clients.
- Build trust through transparency, communication, and measurable impact.
- Present strategy, performance reviews, and growth direction with confidence and clarity.
What You Bring
- 3+ years in ecommerce growth, performance marketing, or commercial strategy (DTC experience a strong plus).
- A proven ability to scale brands profitably through data-led decision making.
- Experience managing ad budgets of $50K+/month across paid social and/or search.
- Strong grasp of growth metrics (MER, CLTV, nCPA, AOV, contribution margin) and how they tie to brand performance.
- Exceptional communication skills. You can make complex financial ideas clear and compelling.
- A collaborative, proactive leader who thrives in a high-performance environment.
