Animal Attendant

The Animal Attendant is integral to our Dolittles Team by providing the highest level of animal care, maintaining hygienic animal housing conditions, delivering excellent customer service and administrative support as required.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Walking and exercising animals

• Feeding animals

• Grooming and washing animals

• Monitoring, addressing and reporting animal welfare and health of animals

• Completing daily report accurately

• Administering medication to animals and providing pet first aid (pending level/training)

• Liaise with mobile vets/travel to emergency vet if needed

• Cleaning and maintenance of animal boarding facilities, equipment, premise and animal care products

• Operation of pickup and delivery vehicle as required

• Customer service in person, over the phone and via email

• Administrative support- including bookings, processing payments, maintaining vaccination records, photo reporting, adding social media posts and data entry.

• Other tasks as requested by management

Skills and behaviours

• Genuine interest in animals and their care

• Able to read and react to animal behaviour

• Can work with all animal types/breeds including reptiles

• Practiced animal husbandry skills

• Active person with high energy levels to work in a fast paced environment

• High level of flexibility

• Excellent customer service skills

• Take direction where required

• Ability to work within a team efficiently

• Basic to intermediate Office suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
