The Quality & Compliance Manager is responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) across the ANZ region, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements and quality certifications.

 Reporting to the Group QA Manager ANZ, the role leads quality and compliance activities, supports audit readiness and drives continuous improvement to ensure products consistently meet regulatory, customer and internal quality requirements.

This role can be based in either our Melbourne (preferred) or Sydney office.

What Your Day Looks Like?

  • Establish, maintain and improve quality management systems in line with Australian and New Zealand regulatory requirements, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001:2015, Rainforest Alliance Chain of Custody requirements, APCO reporting requirements and applicable Halal, Kosher and Organic certification standards.
  • Facilitate and manage internal, customer, second-party and third-party audits, including audit preparation, responses and corrective actions.
  • Support corporate social responsibility audits and assessments, including SMETA 4-Pillar, Ecovadis and related human rights, health and safety, environmental and business ethics requirements.
  • Lead customer complaint investigations, analyse complaint trends and data and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
  • Report quality system performance, risks and improvement opportunities to management.
  • Develop and execute annual QA plans aligned with business objectives and key stakeholder needs.
  • Oversee the management, accuracy and compliance of specifications, PIFs and other quality, technical and compliance documentation, while providing quality, technical and regulatory support to internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers.
  • Oversee relevant documentation, self-assessments and audit requirements for co-manufacturers, third-party warehouses and other external facilities.
  • Support import and export matters across ANZ sites, including product compliance reviews, technical documentation, customer and supplier queries and coordination with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Liaise with Group stakeholders to support internal projects and SAP process implementation across ANZ sites, including coordination of requirements, follow-up actions and local business alignment.
  • Provide cross-functional support to drive internal continuous improvement initiatives.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Quality Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Systems or Compliance within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry, including at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including FSSC 22000, ISO 9001:2015, HACCP and other food safety standards.
  • Strong understanding of food legislation, regulatory compliance and certification requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading internal, external and third-party audits.
  • Experience managing regulatory certifications and customer compliance requirements.
  • Experience working across multiple manufacturing sites, with experience in a trading business highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to monitor, interpret and report on quality performance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the business.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to identify opportunities, implement practical improvements and drive business efficiencies.
