Executive Support Officer

Supporting Djirra’s Executive Director and Senior Executive Team

 

  • Remunerated with a generous SCHADS Award Salary Level 6 Pay Point 1 – $115,339.12 pa + Superannuation + Salary Packaging
  • Full time, ongoing and based in our thriving Djirra Head Office on Hoddle St, Abbotsford

 

About the Role

Djirra has spent over twenty years walking alongside Aboriginal women and their children, building towards a future free of family violence through legal services, case management and community led programs across Victoria, alongside fearless advocacy.

This role helps us to keep that work moving by supporting Djirra’s leadership.

You’ll work alongside our highly regarded Executive Director, who brings sharp judgement and a long commitment to Djirra, and directs our fast growing organisation under the leadership of our high-profile CEO. Six directors make up the senior executive team (SET), leading Legal Services, Engagement and Support, Corporate Services, Finance, and the Office of the CEO.

As Executive Support Officer, you’ll back the ED and this team as they move on the issues that matter most to Djirra and our community. You’ll sit close to the decisions that shape Djirra’s future, and your work will free executive leaders to spend their time where it counts.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the Executive Director’s diary and inbox, coordinating with the CEO’s Executive Assistant
  • Run secretariat for SET, managers’ and all-staff meetings: agendas, minutes, follow-up
  • Coordinate travel and itineraries for the ED and SET members
  • Prepare briefing reports and maintain records for the ED and SET
  • Support small projects and events from planning through to delivery.

 

Who You Are

  • You have, or can build, a strong understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community and the impact of family violence on Aboriginal women
  • You bring strong organisational and time management skills to a busy, changing workload
  • You’ve spent three or more years in an administration and support role
  • You write in plain, professional English and edit your own work
  • You handle confidential and sensitive material with discretion
  • You hold a current driver’s licence and don’t mind some regional travel

Requirements

 

Essential

  • A Victorian Employees Working with Children’s Check card or willing to obtain one
  • Willing to obtain a Police Check at Djirra’s expense
  • Driver’s License
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in an administration and support role .

 

Desirable

  • Experience in an Aboriginal Community Controlled, legal and/or community setting.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business administration or demonstrated equivalent experience
