Position: Environmental Cleaner

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Environmental Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities in Portland. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail, and is committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and infection control.

About the Role

Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, the Environmental Cleaner is responsible for ensuring DWECH facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety. This includes:

• Clean and sanitise floors, surfaces, windows, amenities, kitchens, and common areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of clinical and treatment rooms in accordance with infection control procedures.
• Empty waste bins and manage waste disposal, including clinical waste.
• Replenish consumables such as soap, paper products, tea, coffee, and milk.
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
• Maintain cleaning registers and order cleaning supplies when required.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Report maintenance issues and workplace safety hazards.
• Assist with outbreak management cleaning activities.
• Prepare and clean residential accommodation units, including laundering and restocking as required.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a cleaning, environmental services, or similar role (highly desirable).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices or willingness to undertake training.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Excellent reliability and organisational skills.
• A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a team environment.
• A current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
