Established in 2006 as a specialist piping contractor, DGC has grown into one of Central Queensland’s leading multidisciplinary industrial service providers. Over the past 20 years, we’ve expanded our capabilities to include structural fabrication, protective coatings, concrete remediation, mechanical services, engineered conveyor solutions and major maintenance services across the mining, ports and industrial sectors.

With sustained annual revenue growth of 30%, we’re looking for a commercially focused and proactive Business Development Manager to strengthen our opportunity pipeline, lead our tendering function and secure the next generation of projects that will support our continued growth.

About the Role

This is a strategic, commercially driven role that goes beyond traditional sales. You’ll be highly visible across our business and the industry, building strong client relationships, identifying new opportunities and working closely with our operational teams to deliver commercially successful outcomes.

Reporting directly to our director, you will play a key role in securing new work while ensuring our tendering processes remain strategic, competitive and professionally executed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Identify upcoming maintenance, shutdown and capital project opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor DGC’s estimating team while coordinating tender priorities.
  • Prepare, review and submit complex, high-value tenders.
  • Manage Expressions of Interest, prequalification submissions and tender responses.
  • Coordinate technical, operational and commercial inputs throughout the tender process.
  • Review scopes, estimates, methodologies, schedules, risks and contractual requirements.
  • Lead internal tender review meetings and present recommendations to senior management.
  • Manage post-tender clarifications and commercial negotiations.
  • Ensure successful projects are effectively transitioned to the delivery team.
  • Support DGC’s continued expansion into new clients, industries and regions.

About You

You’re a driven, high-energy, commercially minded professional who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities and delivering successful tenders.

You’ll have experience in one or more of the following sectors: mining, ports, heavy industry, construction, infrastructure or industrial services, along with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple business functions.

You’ll also bring:

  • Proven experience preparing and submitting complex, high-value tenders.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing estimating teams.
  • Strong commercial, financial and contractual understanding.
  • The ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and project scopes.
  • Excellent written communication and tender presentation skills.
  • Outstanding client relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with operations, project management, HSEQ, finance and executive leadership.
  • A disciplined approach to opportunity qualification, tender governance and reporting.

Why DGC?

Working with DGC comes with a range of benefits, including:
