The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with strong technical capability and a customer-focused mindset. This role offers exposure to a broad mix of projects, support, consulting, and cloud technologies, with a genuine pathway into a Technical Account Manager (TAM) role within 12-18 months.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering but also wants to evolve into a more strategic, client-facing advisory role.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise and SMB network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, wireless, and secure remote access solutions
  • Configuring, managing, and optimising network and security technologies including Fortinet firewalls, UniFi Enterprise networking, routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex network and systems faults across multi-site, hybrid, and cloud-based environments
  • Monitoring and improving network performance, availability, scalability, and security across client environments
  • Designing, deploying, and supporting cloud networking and infrastructure solutions within Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments
  • Implementing and maintaining cybersecurity controls aligned with industry best practices and modern security frameworks
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation, network diagrams, standards, and system architecture documentation
  • Working closely with clients, vendors, and internal team members on infrastructure projects, upgrades, and solution delivery
  • Contributing to internal process improvement, technical standards, automation initiatives, and service optimisation
  • Opportunity to develop into a client-facing Technical Account Manager role, acting as a trusted technical advisor to assigned clients

Selection Criteria – Minimum Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in network engineering or systems engineering roles
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Enterprise networking technologies including routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, SD-WAN and firewalling
    • Multi-site and client-facing infrastructure environments
    • Microsoft Azure networking and hybrid infrastructure
    • Virtualisation technologies, such as Hyper‑V, or equivalent
  • Experience working with technologies such as:
    • Fortinet
    • Ubiquiti UniFi Enterprise
    • Enterprise switching and wireless platforms
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and client communication
  • Ability to manage workload autonomously with minimal supervision

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment
  • Experience with tools such as:
    • Autotask / Datto RMM
    • IT Glue
    • UniFi
  • Industry certifications such as:
    • Fortinet NSE
    • Microsoft Azure certifications
