About the role

We’re looking for compassionate, reliable Support Workers to join our team, providing individualised care and support to people with disability. You’ll help participants build independence, confidence and community connection — supporting them with personal care, daily activities, community access, and companionship, in line with their individual service plans.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualised care and support in line with each participant’s service plan
• Support participants to access community activities, outings and appointments
• Provide personal care and assist with daily living needs where required
• Support participants with behaviours of concern and mental health needs using a calm, professional approach
• Monitor and report on participant health, wellbeing and safety
• Maintain clear communication with the team, families and other professionals involved in a participant’s care
• Complete accurate documentation (progress notes, incident reports, communication books)
• Follow all WHS, privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures

About you — Essential

• Reliable, emotionally mature, and genuinely passionate about making a difference in people’s lives
• Excellent spoken English and strong communication skills
• Flexibility to work a variety of day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts
• Current Australian driver’s licence, with a registered and insured vehicle
• Willing to travel to support participants across different locations
• Sound computer literacy and ability to maintain professional documentation
• Experience or lived experience in disability, aged care, mental health, community care or a related field (can be a student)
• Satisfactory Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
• First Aid Certificate (HLTAID002/HLTAID003) or willingness to obtain
• Mobile phone with internet access

Desirable

• Previous experience as a Support Worker
• Second language skills
• Experience supporting people with complex needs, behaviours of concern, or mental health conditions
• Experience supporting children with additional needs
