Description
Know your stock? Love finding the “why” behind a discrepancy? This could be your next move.
At CRL Express, we’re growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Inbound Stock Controller to help keep our 3PL warehouse accurate, organised and running as it should.
This isn’t a role where you simply count stock and move on.
You’ll take ownership of stock accuracy across our inbound operation, investigate discrepancies, conduct cycle counts and location audits, verify inbound freight and make sure what our WMS says is on the floor is actually on the floor.
If you’re someone who spots a variance and can’t leave it alone until you’ve figured out where it came from and why, we want to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work closely with our Warehouse Supervisor, Inbound Team Leader and Customer Service team to:
- Own the accuracy of inbound stock records and physical stock
- Plan and carry out cycle counts, stocktakes and location audits
- Investigate stock discrepancies and trace them back to the root cause
- Make sure stock is allocated to the correct customer, product and warehouse location
- Verify inbound goods are received, labelled and put away correctly
- Investigate shortages, overs, damaged freight and labelling errors
- Audit warehouse locations against product and storage charge types, including Dangerous Goods
- Assist with setting up new customers and products within the WMS
- Produce stock, variance and location reports
- Work hands-on with the inbound team when things get busy
- Help improve processes to reduce stock discrepancies in the first place.
What we’re looking for
You’ll suit this role if you’re methodical, switched on and naturally detail-focused. You don’t just change a number to make stock balance. You want to understand why it didn’t balance in the first place.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in stock control, inventory control or stocktaking within warehousing or logistics
- Experience working with a Warehouse Management System, with CartonCloud highly regarded
- A current forklift licence
- Dangerous Goods Awareness Training
- Strong knowledge of cycle counting, stocktakes, reconciliation and variance analysis
- Good Microsoft Excel skills and confidence analysing stock data
- An understanding of warehouse safety and Chain of Responsibility
- Confidence working independently and prioritising your own workload
- Strong communication skills when dealing with warehouse teams, customers, carriers and other departments.
Why CRL Express?
Since starting in 2018, CRL Express has grown from a small linehaul transport operator into a national logistics business providing Road Freight, 3PL Warehousing & Distribution, National Linehaul, Rail Freight, Air Freight and contracted logistics services across Australia.
We’re ambitious about where we’re going, but we’re equally focused on creating a workplace built around empowerment, communication, teamwork and a passion for excellence.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for someone who wants genuine ownership of their area and enjoys being the person people turn to when it comes to stock accuracy.
Sounds like you?
If you know your way around a warehouse, understand what good inventory control looks like and have a habit of spotting the details others miss, we’d love to hear from you.
