About the role
As a Bookkeeper, you will manage the day-to-day bookkeeping needs of a varied client portfolio. You will build trusted client relationships, maintain accurate records and help clients feel confident in their financial information and obligations.
This is a full-time role based predominantly in our Townsville office. We value face-to-face connection, collaboration and client service, while offering reasonable flexibility by agreement to support our people and the needs of the role.
What you’ll be doing
- Maintain accurate accounting records for multiple clients, including bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Record and categorise transactions and process accounts payable and receivable using Xero, MYOB or Reckon.
- Prepare and process payroll, employee entitlements, leave, superannuation and Single Touch Payroll reporting.
- Prepare and support the lodgment of BAS, IAS and related compliance documentation.
- Monitor deadlines, follow up information and maintain clear records for review and audit purposes.
- Set up and maintain Xero files, including charts of accounts, bank feeds and user permissions.
- Guide and train clients in using Xero in a clear, practical and patient way.
- Work closely with our accounting and advisory teams when onboarding clients or improving processes.

- A Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, or a relevant equivalent qualification.
- Strong working knowledge of Xero and related applications; Xero certification is highly regarded.
- Practical knowledge of payroll, GST, superannuation and BAS/IAS requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication and a genuine commitment to client service.
