About the Role
We’re seeking expressions of interest from Home and Garden Maintenance Workers in all listed areas. You’ll complete a variety of tasks that help our clients remain independent and safe in their homes.
Tasks may include:
- Mowing and edging
- Whipper snipping
- Changing lightbulbs and cleaning air conditioner filters
- Window cleaning
- Gutter cleaning
What We’re Looking For
Working in the aged care sector calls for a combination of practical maintenance skills and the right personal attributes.
We value workers who:
- Have experience or are skilled in gardening/maintenance
- Are punctual and complete tasks as promised, building client trust in you and your services, and let our scheduling team know if you can’t attend
- Check the written service plan and deliver only the pre-agreed services
- Build positive relationships with our aged care clients, engaging with clients, their families and carers to support their health, lifestyle and wellbeing
- Understand the physical, emotional and social needs of older people
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and can build meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues
- Have sufficient physical fitness to safely and competently perform basic maintenance and yard work
What You’ll Need
- A smartphone (for client notes, receiving contract assignments and liaising with scheduling)
- A current driver’s licence
- Reliable transport and the ability to carry required tools from job to job (Contractors only)
- Tools to suit the work, e.g. mower, blower, whipper snipper, hand tools, ladder (Contractors only)
- Personal protective equipment suitable for the tasks
Before You Commence
- National Police Check (Aged Care purpose) or NDIS Worker Screening Check
- ABN/ACN (Contractors only)
- Public Liability Insurance with a minimum of $10 million coverage (Contractors only)
Salary Packaging Benefits (Casual Only)
- Salary package up to $15,900 of your annual salary tax-free (per FBT year)
- Access to a Meals and Entertainment Card worth up to an additional $2,650 per year
- If you’re considered remote by the ATO, you may be able to access additional salary sacrificing of up to an additional $15,900 per FBT year through the Remote Area Benefit
