Consumer Credit Legal Service (CCLS) is a specialist not-for-profit community legal centre delivering free legal assistance in credit, debt and consumer law across Western Australia. We combine frontline legal help with education and advocacy to drive fairer financial systems.
We:
- Provide free, confidential legal advice on credit, debt and consumer law
- Represent vulnerable consumers in dispute resolution processes
- Deliver a statewide Telephone Advice Line, targeted casework and community legal education
- Work alongside community and sector partners, including financial counselling and family violence services
- Advocate for systemic change and stronger consumer protections
The roles
We’re recruiting a pool of Solicitors and Senior Solicitors to fill a number of positions opening across our legal practice. This includes ongoing roles and a fixed-term parental leave cover position in our Financial Abuse Legal Service (FALS).
Consumer credit and debt law knowledge is the core requirement. Appointment level and remuneration will reflect your experience and capability.
You will
- Provide trauma-informed legal advice and representation in credit, debt and consumer law.
- Manage casework files including alternative dispute resolution and litigation preparation as required.
- Contribute to community legal education and law reform.
- Senior Solicitor: supervise and mentor junior practitioners and provide legal practice leadership.
You will bring
- Admission to practise in WA.
- Sound knowledge of, or genuine capacity to build expertise in, consumer credit and debt law.
- Experience advising clients in vulnerable circumstances.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, values-driven approach.

Senior Solicitor: minimum 5 years PAE and demonstrated supervisory capability.
Practitioners with experience in financial abuse, coercive control in financial matters, or working alongside financial counselling and family violence services are particularly encouraged to apply.
