Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Zookeeper. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of our zoo animals, ensuring their health and well-being. This role requires hands-on experience working with a variety of animal species and a strong commitment to conservation efforts.

Skills:

– Experience working with a variety of animal species

– Knowledge of animal behavior, nutrition, and health

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills

– Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Responsibilities:

– Provide daily care for zoo animals including feeding, cleaning enclosures, grooming, and monitoring behavior

– Maintain accurate records of animal health and behavior

– Assist in the development and implementation of enrichment programs for animals

– Monitor visitors to ensure they are following zoo guidelines around animal interaction

– Assist veterinary staff with medical procedures as needed

– Participate in conservation efforts both on-site at the zoo and in partnership with external organizations

Qualifications:

– Certificate III or IV in Captive Animal Management or equivalent qualification

– Minimum 2 years experience working with exotic animals in a zoological setting

– Valid driver’s license
