Disability Youth Support Workers – ACT

Our Client:

Our client is a young male participant living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 3), Mild Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Language Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) Type E, which impacts balance, coordination, and physical endurance.

He enjoys practical hands-on activities, cooking, sports, humour, structured routines, and community participation. The ideal support workers will be calm, confident, patient, and able to provide consistent support while maintaining clear professional boundaries.

About you:

  • Previous experience in disability support, complex care or working with participants with multiple complex medical needs
  • Confident following individual care plans, health protocols and support procedures
  • Strong communication and observation skills
  • Able to work collaboratively with the participant, family and broader support team
  • Committed to maintaining participant privacy, dignity and choice
  • Reliable and able to commit to agreed shifts
  • Provide respectful, individualised support in the participant’s home and community
  • Assist with daily living and personal care as required

Essential requirements:

    Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Mental Health, Community Services,

  • Youth Work, or equivalent
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance 
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current Australian driver’s licence and reliable transport
