Diploma Educator – Possum Early Childhood Centre

Full-Time | 38 hours per week Location: Hazelbrook, NSW

Are you a Diploma-qualified educator who is passionate about creating rich, responsive learning experiences for preschool-aged children? At Possum Early Childhood Centre, you’ll help children aged 3-5 years build the confidence, curiosity and foundations they need for lifelong learning.

About Possum ECC

Possum ECC is part of Connect Children and Families and now specialises exclusively in education and care for children aged 3-5 years. Children may transition to Possum ECC from Connect’s Hazelwood ECC, which supports children from 6 weeks to 3 years.

Our practice is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including:

  • Circle of Security – Classroom
  • BrainSET design
  • The Family Partnership Model

Through reflective practice and practitioner research, our team continues to develop a distinctive pedagogy that supports children’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging.

About You

We’d love to hear from educators who:

  • Hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or an ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification.
  • Have current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications.
  • Hold a valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Are passionate about working with children aged 3-5 years.
  • Understand the developmental needs, strengths and interests of preschool-aged children.
  • Are committed to respectful, responsive and relationship-based practice.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively and communicating openly with colleagues, children and families.
  • Are motivated to grow professionally and engage in reflective practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nurturing, responsive care and high-quality education for children aged 3-5 years.
  • Work collaboratively to plan, document and implement programs that support each child’s learning and development.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Contribute to reflective practice, team collaboration and ongoing professional learning.
