About the role
The Senior Community Worker is integral to the provision of quality services to our clients through the delivery of effective support. This position provides mentoring to the Community Gateway Field Staff workforce.
Our Senior Community Workers are a stand-out role model to other Community Workers by demonstrating a consistent commitment to fulfilling duties related to mentoring, peer support and upskilling for less experienced Community Support Workers including buddy shifts and related documentation.
About you
Essential
- Certificate III Qualification in Home & Community Care, Aged Care, Disabilities, individual support or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years full time experience , or equivalent number of hours in a Community Worker position.
- Demonstrated ability to competently fulfil quality related responsibilities include spot check assessments.
- Excellent time management and demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to work health and safety requirements.
- High standard of customer service skills and understanding of, and commitment to person-centred practices.
- Ability to work a range of hours between 7:00am and 7:00pm.

Community Gateway is not-for-profit provider of aged care and disability services in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Mid North Coast regions of NSW.
