About the role
As Maintenance Services Team Leader, you will lead the effective delivery of CEHL’s property maintenance programs, including responsive, planned, and preventative works. You will ensure that CEHL-owned and managed housing assets are maintained to the required standards of safety, quality, and compliance, while supporting cooperative housing principles and positive renter experiences. You will provide leadership, coordination, and technical oversight to the maintenance team and contractors, ensuring value-for-money outcomes, effective service delivery, and compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and CEHL policies.
About you
You are an experienced maintenance or property management professional with a strong background in the delivery of property maintenance services, contractor management and proactive service delivery. You bring strong leadership skills, sound judgement, and a commitment to delivering safe, compliant and high-quality maintenance services that support positive renter outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience leading, coordinating or supervising a residential maintenance, property services or facilities team, preferably in community housing or a related sector.
- Strong people leadership, coaching, work allocation and performance management skills, including the ability to lift capability, behaviours and accountability.
- Strong knowledge of responsive, planned and cyclical maintenance delivery, including service levels, follow-up, reporting and work order closure.
- Sound working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, occupational health and safety legislation, privacy legislation and maintenance reporting requirements.
- Experience managing complex maintenance matters, escalations, complaints, contractor issues, cost variations and delegated authority requirements.
- Strong reporting, budget monitoring, analytical judgement and system discipline, with the ability to translate maintenance data into practical actions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative and respectful approach.
