CYC Phillip Island Adventure Resort is an expansive facility situated on 80 acres of landscaped grounds in the heart of Cowes. It offers accommodation for over 600 guests, featuring air-conditioned guest rooms with ensuites, and a variety of onsite activities including giant swings, swimming pools, high and low ropes courses, canoeing, raft making, sand volleyball, indoor rock climbing, archery and both single and quad flying foxes!!

The resort is a purpose-built complex catering to large bookings and is a popular destination for educational groups, community and church groups, school camps, corporate retreats, and holiday camps.

Our Food and Hospitality department is supported by two fully equipped commercial kitchens, a campground kitchen and three all-weather barbecue areas. Guests are hosted across four main dining rooms and are offered a comprehensive range of dining options to meet the diverse needs of our varied customer base. High-quality seasonal menus catering to various dietary preferences and requirements are planned in close consultation with our groups. Our offering includes everything from buffet breakfasts of the cooked or continental variety and packed lunches for adventure-filled days, right through to premium sit down menus crafted with the finest ingredients.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced chef/cook who is passionate about all things food and hospitality to join our friendly team. More than just a job…….come and help us create opportunities for moments that change lives!

Key responsibilities:

  • Cooking and serving food, ensuring that all dishes meet high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • Preparing for service, including checking supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
  • Assistance with the development of recipes and determining how to present dishes
  • Liaison with guests regarding special diet requirements, and adherence to allergy policies and procedures
  • Assisting with the induction and/or training of apprentices and new team members
  • Collaborating with other kitchen staff and dining room hosts to ensure a positive guest experience
  • Ensure a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to a flexible roster inclusive of some weekends and evenings
