About the role
We are currently looking for a Support Worker Mental Health to join our team. The purpose of this role is to support our customers living with mental illness and help them live the life they choose. This role is based in Bunbury and surrounding areas. You will work alongside customers with varying support needs to provide tailored, person-centred services and activities of their choice.
This is what you will need:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health or relevant qualifications
- Relevant experience in mental health community support
- NDIS experience
- A proven capacity to deal with challenging issues
- A genuine commitment, with demonstrated skills and knowledge working with people experiencing mental illness
- Highly developed innovative and creative thinking abilities, problem-solving abilities, compassion, empathy and professionalism
- The ability to be resourceful, creative and adaptable within role boundaries
- Understanding of the person-centred approach
- Confidentiality and diversity awareness
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, and the confidence to work independently
- Effective listening skills and the ability to share practical information in an appropriate and respectful manner
- A safety-first approach for yourself and the customer
- Strong administrative skills (Microsoft packages, word processing, email and internet)
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Current Provide First Aid Certificate, not older than 12 months
