About the Role:
As a Vocational Support Worker, you will provide hands-on training and ongoing support to employees with disability within the Koora Industries workplace. You will help employees develop, improve and maintain their vocational skills while supporting their independence and participation in a safe and productive work environment.
You will also assist with the day-to-day operations of the workplace, working closely with employees and the team to achieve quality outcomes.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm with a 30-minute lunch break

Duties:
- Provide training, guidance and support to employees with disability to develop and maintain vocational skills.
- Provide supervision and assist with the daily operations of the workplace.
- Act as a key worker for allocated employees.
- Implement Employee Development Plans and task analysis to support individual workplace goals.
- Encourage employees to develop greater independence in the workplace.
- Support productivity and maintain high-quality work standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy working environment.
- Assist with the maintenance of plant and equipment as required.
- Complete routine reports, CIMS notes and incident reports.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- Participate in team meetings and staff training.
- Work in accordance with organisational policies, procedures, disability standards and relevant legislation.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience in the disability sector or a related field.
- Ability to operate machinery within a workplace environment.
- Practical experience and/or knowledge relevant to workplace operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
- Good time management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and follow instructions using sound judgement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
Desirable:
- Experience in disability, mental health or a related field.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability.
- Commercial cleaning, yard maintenance or general labouring experience.
- Administration experience.
- MR Truck Licence.
- Forklift Licence.
