About the Role:

We are seeking a PSP Practice Specialist to provide specialist practice advice, coaching, training and support across our Permanency Support Program (PSP).

Working closely with casework, carer compliance and supervised contact teams, you will help strengthen practice quality, support complex casework and ensure our services remain aligned with legislation, standards and contemporary practice. You will also contribute to research, policy development, practice frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties:

• Provide specialist advice and support on complex and sensitive cases.
• Conduct case practice and case plan reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Provide formal and informal practice coaching, mentoring and consultation.
• Research contemporary practice and contribute to evidence-based approaches.
• Develop, deliver and review training for PSP teams.
• Support the implementation of practice frameworks, policies and procedures.
• Contribute to projects, program development and continuous improvement.
• Monitor legislative, regulatory and sector changes and provide relevant advice.
• Prepare reports, maintain accurate documentation and contribute to practice reviews.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, DCJ and other relevant external stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

• Relevant tertiary or Diploma qualification in Human Services or a related field.
• Significant experience working with vulnerable children and young people, their carers and families.
• Knowledge of, and ability to interpret and apply, relevant legislation, NSW Child Safe Standards and Permanency Support Program requirements.
• Experience researching and applying best-practice approaches to casework, carer support and working with families.
• Experience with project design and implementing program or practice frameworks.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and contribute effectively within a team.
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout NSW as required.

 Desirable:

• Experience working in a similar practice specialist role.
• Knowledge of evidence-based frameworks such as Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and Children and Residential Experiences (CARE).
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
