CatholicCare Tasmania is the primary social services agency of the Catholic Church across Tasmania. We have 60 years’ experience delivering a wide range of services and support to improve individual, family and community wellbeing. Our services are available and open to all with a particular focus on families, young people and children.

CatholicCare Tasmania is seeking an experienced and strategic Outcomes, Evaluation and Research Lead to strengthen our ability to understand, measure and communicate organisational impact. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of outcomes frameworks, evaluation processes and research activities that support evidence-informed decision-making, continuous improvement and organisational accountability. Working collaboratively across programs and corporate services, you will build capability in outcomes measurement, evaluation and impact reporting, ensuring CatholicCare Tasmania can effectively demonstrate the outcomes achieved through our services.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the implementation and continuous improvement of CatholicCare Tasmania’s Theory of Change and organisational outcomes framework.
  • Supporting programs to develop outcomes frameworks, program logics and meaningful outcome measures.
  • Coordinating organisation-wide outcomes reporting and impact measurement.
  • Designing and leading evaluation frameworks, methodologies and evaluation activities across the organisation.
  • Undertaking and coordinating research projects, evidence reviews and environmental scans.
  • Translating research and evaluation findings into practical recommendations that strengthen service delivery and client outcomes.
  • Preparing strategic reports, submissions, discussion papers and publications to support organisational learning, advocacy and sector influence.
  • Coordinating organisational performance reporting against strategic objectives and outcomes.
  • Supporting funding applications, grant submissions and tender responses through the development of evidence, impact statements and outcome narratives.
  • Building organisational capability in outcomes measurement, evaluation and evidence-informed practice through coaching, workshops and resources.

About You

You are a highly analytical and collaborative professional with a passion for using evidence to drive positive outcomes and continuous improvement.

You will bring:

  • Experience in outcomes measurement, evaluation, research, strategic reporting or organisational performance.
  • Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience developing evaluation frameworks, outcome measures and reporting methodologies.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality reports, submissions and publications.
  • The ability to interpret and translate complex data, research and evidence into practical insights and recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • A commitment to evidence-informed practice, continuous improvement and mission-aligned service delivery.
