As we continue to grow, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Systems & Compliance Coordinator to support our commitment to safety excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining our Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations, and workplace health and safety requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative, compliance, and systems management skills who is passionate about safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and continuously improving the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Coordinate safety documentation, policies, procedures, and registers.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with HVNL, CoR, NHVR, WHS, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Coordinate internal audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Assist with preparation for external audits and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain training records, inductions, licences, and competency registers.
  • Support the implementation of safety initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Liaise with all areas of the business to ensure compliance requirements are understood and achieved.
  • Assist in subcontractor management and compliance verification activities.
  • Manage incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and close-out processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a safety, compliance, quality, or systems coordination role.
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation and compliance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of HVNL, Chain of Responsibility, NHVAS, or transport industry compliance requirements (highly desirable).
  • Experience maintaining management systems and compliance documentation.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and compliance management systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
