Description

NDIS Payroll Specialist NDIS / Disability Services • Parramatta, NSW

Industry-leading pay on offer for the right, appropriately skilled candidate. Immediate start.

Engagement: Casual employee or contractor – 2 days per week (on-site), Monday and Tuesday.

Location: On-site, Parramatta NSW – attendance in the office is required on both working days.

Start: Immediate.

Rate: Casual employee: $45 to $50 per hour.

Contractor: $50 per hour.

We are a disability services provider operating in the NDIS space, running payroll for up to 200 part-time, time-and-attendance staff. We are seeking an experienced payroll officer with NDIS experience to own the pay cycle end-to-end across a two-day working week, someone who knows award interpretation and can be trusted to get complex, penalty-heavy pays right the first time. This is a hands-on processing role, not an advisory one, and we pay accordingly for genuine expertise.

What you’ll do

  • Run end-to-end payroll for up to 200 part-time, time-and-attendance employees in Pay cat, from timesheet import through to payment and payslips.
  • Interpret and correctly apply the relevant modern awards, principally the SCHADS Award (Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services). This includes shift and weekend penalties, overtime, broken-shift allowances, sleepovers, on-call/recall, travel and kilometre allowances, and minimum-engagement rules.
  • Utilise AI tools and overseas support to improve efficiency and processes.
  • Reconcile time-and-attendance data against rosters and resolve exceptions, anomalies and missing punches before each run.
  • Calculate and process superannuation guarantee correctly on ordinary time earnings, ensure contributions reach the funds on time via the clearing house, and keep contributions reconciled to payroll each quarter.
  • Manage PAYG withholding, leave accruals (personal, annual and long service), terminations and back-pays.
  • Lodge Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting each pay run and complete STP finalisation.
  • Maintain payroll accuracy and compliance with Fair Work, the NES, the ATO and the superannuation guarantee regime, with clean, auditable records.
  • Apply award and pay-rate changes (annual wage reviews, SCHADS increases) accurately and on time.
  • Support period-end and year-end payroll processes and respond to employee pay queries.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven payroll processing experience for a comparable or larger part-time, shift-based workforce.
  • Demonstrated experience working within the NDIS or disability services sector.
  • Deep, demonstrable award-interpretation expertise, ideally SCHADS / NDIS-sector awards – this is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have.
  • Strong command of time-and-attendance payroll: penalties, allowances, overtime and broken shifts.
  • Hands-on Pay cat experience (strongly preferred), or fast proficiency in a comparable time-and-attendance-integrated payroll platform.
  • Sound working knowledge of superannuation guarantee obligations, STP, PAYG and Fair Work / NES compliance.
  • Accuracy, discretion with confidential data, and the ability to work autonomously and hit pay-run deadlines without supervision.
  • Reliable on-site availability in Parramatta two days per week, Monday and Tuesday.

Nice to have

  • Experience with aged care, community or home-care providers more broadly.
  • Exposure to SCHADS enterprise agreements layered over the award.

Why this role

  • Industry-leading remuneration for a candidate who can genuinely demonstrate the NDIS, award and superannuation expertise above.
  • Immediate start, with a clear, self-contained brief and the autonomy to own it.
  • A part-time commitment that fits alongside other work – two focused days a week (Monday and Tuesday) in a central Parramatta office, only 6mins walk to the station!
  • Flexible engagement – available as a casual employee or as a contractor.
