About Carers WA:

Carers WA is the peak body representing the needs and interests of carers in Western Australia and is part of a national network of Carers Associations providing a range of support services, supporting Carers across Western Australia. Carers provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have disability, mental health challenges, a chronic condition, terminal illness, an alcohol or other drug issue or who are frail aged.

About the Role:

The Business Support Officer is a full-time, fixed-term contract ending 30 June 2027. The position attracts a salary package of $74,646 p.a., plus super and salary packaging, 5 weeks annual leave (including 17.5% leave loading) and two wellness days per annum.

The Business Support Officer supports the efficient operation of the Central Services team by delivering high-quality administrative and customer service support. This includes assisting with the coordination and administration of the organisation’s vehicle fleet and facilities, supporting business processes, undertaking general administrative duties and working collaboratively across the organisation.

The role demonstrates initiative and organisational skills, and adapts to business needs and priorities. This includes providing reception cover as required, acting as a first point of contact for clients, visitors and employees, managing enquiries, and ensuring a positive customer experience in person, over the phone, and via email.

 

The role may involve handling interactions with callers or visitors experiencing frustration or distress, requiring the ability to remain professional and apply effective de-escalation skills. Carers WA supports employees through relevant training, established procedures and appropriate workplace safety measures to promote physical and psychological wellbeing.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated experience providing high-quality administrative and coordination support in an office environment.
  2. Proven ability to deliver professional, responsive and customer-focused service through phone and email communications.
  3. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision.
  6. Demonstrated ability to show initiative and adapt to business needs.
  7. High level of organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a large and varied workload.
  8. National Police Clearance issued within the last 3 months (to be provided upon employment).
  9. C-class drivers license.
