ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Disability Support Worker to join our growing team. This is a flexible, community-based role supporting NDIS participants with psychosocial disability and mental health needs across home and community settings in Queensland.

As a Disability Support Worker with Care Compass Collective, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day living support, community participation and personal care assistance tailored to each participant’s NDIS plan and goals
  • Deliver strengths-based, trauma-informed support that builds confidence, independence and daily living skills
  • Assist participants to engage with social activities, community programs and meaningful routines
  • Support skill development across areas such as budgeting, cooking, transport, communication and self-care
  • Work collaboratively with participants, their families, carers and allied health professionals
  • Maintain accurate support notes and documentation in line with NDIS practice standards and organisational policies
  • Uphold the rights, dignity and choice of every person you support

This role is well suited to individuals with a background or genuine interest in mental health support work, community services, social work, psychology, nursing or allied health.

You are someone who brings warmth, patience and genuine care to your work. You understand the importance of building trusting relationships and can adapt your approach to meet each participant where they are.

You will bring:

  • Experience in disability support, mental health support, aged care, community services or a related field
  • A strengths-based, person-centred approach to support work
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Reliability, professionalism and a genuine commitment to participant wellbeing
  • Lived experience or qualifications in psychology, social work, nursing, community services or disability studies are highly regarded

REQUIREMENTS

  • Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or willingness to obtain
  • Yellow Card (Disability Worker Screening Clearance) or willingness to obtain
  • Current Driver’s Licence and access to a comprehensively insured, reliable vehicle
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
  • Current Police Check or willingness to obtain
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate (or willingness to complete)
