As the Human Resources Officer, you will provide practical HR support across the employment lifecycle by delivering accurate, well coordinated HR services, and support compliance with relevant employment, workplace health and safety, and organisational requirements.
About the team
You will be part of our collaborative Corporate Operations Team, the team that helps CHN run smoothly. Together, we provide a high level of service to CHN staff and stakeholders, supporting human resources, office coordination, risk, compliance and quality, workplace health and safety, information technology and continuous quality improvement.

You understand the importance of accurate information, clear communication and respectful support when working with employees, managers and sensitive people related matters.
Day to day, you will support a wide variety of HR activities including recruitment coordination, position description development, job advertising, interview processes, reference checks, employment offers, onboarding documentation, HR inbox management, employee records, compliance checks and HR information system administration.
You will also support case management activities, WHS audits and initiatives, learning and development planning, and continuous improvement of HR processes, procedures and policies.
You work well independently and as part of a team, building constructive relationships across the organisation and following through until matters are resolved. With strong attention to detail, professionalism and a continuous improvement mindset, you will help strengthen the employee experience and the effectiveness of the HR function at CHN.
Work location
This position is based in our newly renovated and modern office, located in the heart of the Belconnen town centre. We support flexibility and a hybrid work model at CHN and are happy to work with the successful candidate to ensure work and life balance.

Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience providing practical Human Resources support across the employee lifecycle with a strong focus on accuracy, confidentiality and data integrity.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply Human Resources policies, procedures, Enterprise Agreements, Awards, Legislation and contemporary employment frameworks, using sound judgement and critical thinking to provide accurate advice and support to employees and managers.
- Proven ability to identify, analyse and resolve HR, workplace health and safety and employee relations matters in a professional, respectful and tactful way, including the ability to assess risk, consider options and recommend practical solutions.
- Strong organisational agility, communication and relationship management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing needs, coordinate HR processes and learning activities, and work collaboratively with people at all levels of the organisation while maintaining high attention to detail.
