At Cancer Care Manning Great Lakes (CCMGL), we are looking for a dedicated and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our passionate and dynamic team in Taree.

As part of a patient-centred organisation, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our centre while providing a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience for our patients.

We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist for a permanent part-time position at 0.6 FTE (22.5 hours per week). Working days are negotiable, providing an opportunity to find a work pattern that works for both you and the team.

What’s Involved

Working as part of our collaborative administration team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Patient liaison: Welcoming patients, answering telephone enquiries, managing correspondence and scheduling appointments.
  • Patient administration: Processing billing, completing accurate data entry, maintaining patient records and using our electronic medical systems.
  • Liaising with hospitals, specialists, allied health professionals and other key stakeholders.
  • Supporting doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to ensure the smooth delivery of patient care.
  • Providing a high level of administrative support to the clinical team and contributing to the efficient day-to-day operation of the centre.

What You Bring

  • Previous experience in a medical practice, hospital or healthcare administration environment.
  • Experience in oncology or a similar specialist medical setting is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with Medicare, DVA and Private Health Insurance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work confidently across multiple software systems, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong administrative and data-entry skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with patients, clinicians and other stakeholders.
