About Us

Canberra Southern Cross Club (CSCC) is a community-owned club proudly serving Canberra. Our Yacht Club Precinct is home to elevated dining and premium guest experiences on the water — and we’re looking for a polished, professional Receptionist who takes genuine pride in first impressions to be the face of this exceptional venue.

About the Role

As Receptionist, you’ll be the first point of contact for our members and guests, setting the tone for a refined, welcoming experience from the moment they arrive. This is a high-touch hospitality role suited to someone who thrives on delivering premium guest service, managing bookings, greeting guests warmly, coordinating with our dining and events teams, and ensuring every visit reflects the elevated standard our Yacht Club Precinct is known for.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver a professional, welcoming first impression for every member and guest, reflecting CSCC’s elevated dining and service standards.
  • Provide accurate, up-to-date information on venue offerings, dining experiences, and services.
  • Manage bookings, transactions, and reconciliations accurately using POS and membership systems.
  • Handle guest enquiries and concerns with warmth and professionalism, escalating and following up where needed.
  • Maintain awareness of venue operations and promptly report any issues affecting the guest experience.

About You

You’ll need:

  • Clear, professional and polished communication skills, comfortable engaging with a premium clientele.
  • Confidence using POS systems, membership platforms or booking systems accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong numerical and administrative skills, including handling transactions and record keeping.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while staying composed and professional.
  • Sound judgement when verifying identification and managing venue access.
  • A current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification and a satisfactory Police Check.

It would also be great if you have:

  • Previous reception, front-desk or guest services experience in premium hospitality, fine dining or a similar high-end environment.
  • Experience using club management or POS systems.
  • First Aid certification.
