About the Job:
We have an opportunity for an experienced Technology Operations Lead to join the team, reporting to the GM Technology, Data and Cyber Security.
This role is responsible for ensuring CBLA’s corporate technology services are reliable, well controlled and effectively delivered through our managed service providers and technology partners.
Operating in a predominantly outsourced technology model, the role acts as CBLA’s internal service owner for end-user technology and corporate technology operations. It is accountable for service outcomes, technology asset stewardship, operational governance and supplier performance, overseeing routine hands-on support delivered by our technology services partners.
As a Technology Operations Lead you will:
Technology Operations
- Own service outcomes across end-user computing, Microsoft 365, endpoint management, workplace technology and related corporate services.
- Ensure appropriate operational controls exist for monitoring, patching, backup, recovery, maintenance and support.
- Oversee incident, problem, change and request-management processes.
- Ensure onsite technical support requirements are effectively delivered through the MSP
- Support the operational readiness and transition of new or changed technology services.
- Maintain effective governance over CBLA-owned technology assets, including devices, peripherals and associated software.
- Ensure accurate asset and configuration records are maintained by service providers.
- Own standards for acquisition, allocation, refresh, return and disposal of technology assets.
- Oversee technology aspects of employee onboarding, role changes and offboarding.
- Support licence optimisation, technology procurement and lifecycle planning.
Service & Supplier Management:
- Own the operational relationship with CBLA’s Managed Service Provider and relevant technology suppliers.
- Monitor service levels, incidents, recurring issues and improvement actions, and hold providers accountable for agreed outcomes.
- Lead service reviews, escalations and major incident coordination from CBLA’s perspective.
- Ensure clear ownership and escalation pathways exist across CBLA and its technology providers.
- Identify opportunities to improve service quality, automate repetitive activity and reduce operational complexity.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain clear documentation of CBLA’s technology services, ownership, dependencies and supplier responsibilities.
- Produce meaningful reporting on service performance, incidents, assets, risks and improvement activity.
- Drive practical automation and process improvement opportunities across technology operations.
- Contribute to technology standards, planning, budgeting and operational governance.
- Help simplify CBLA’s technology environment and improve value from technology suppliers.
- Work closely with the Cyber Security function to ensure operational security requirements are implemented effectively by service providers.
- Contribute to disaster recovery, business continuity and technology resilience activities.
- Maintain visibility of material operational risks and ensure they are appropriately managed or escalated.
What you bring to OET:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience.
- ITIL certification or equivalent service-management experience is desirable.
- Relevant Microsoft, cloud or service-management certifications are advantageous.
- Typically 7+ years’ experience in technology operations, IT service management or managed service delivery.
- Demonstrated experience managing or governing outsourced technology providers.
- Strong understanding of incident, problem, change, request and service-level management.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft 365, endpoint management, identity and modern workplace technology.
- Experience with technology asset and lifecycle management.
- Strong supplier, stakeholder and escalation-management skills.
- Ability to understand and challenge technical issues without needing to personally perform routine administration.
- Strong organisational skills, commercial awareness and a practical continuous-improvement mindset.
