Description

Burke Shire Council is seeking a reliable and motivated person to join our Parks and Gardens team as a Cleaner.

Opportunities may be available on a full-time, part-time or casual basis. This is a great opportunity to be part of a practical, hands-on team helping keep Council’s facilities and community spaces clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.

About the role

Reporting to the Parks and Gardens Supervisor, this position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining Council facilities and infrastructure, including the Nijinda Durlga, Council’s administration and depot offices, sport and recreation facilities, public conveniences and amenities. The position may also assist the Parks and Gardens team with maintaining Council’s parks, gardens and open spaces.

Duties may include:

• Cleaning public conveniences, offices, community facilities and recreation facilities

• Replenishing consumables and completing daily and weekly cleaning schedules

• Assisting with general parks and gardens maintenance when required

• Following safe work practices and Council WHS procedures

What we’re looking for

• A current C Class Driver Licence (essential)

• White Card (or willingness to obtain)

• Current Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and tetanus immunisations, or the ability to obtain

• Ability to work safely with minimal supervision

• Good teamwork and communication skills

• Reliability, good organisation and a strong work ethic

• Ability to undertake physical outdoor work
