About the role 

As a People & Culture Co-Ordinator, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive, inclusive and values-led workplace that supports the wider team who support young people. Working alongside a passionate and collaborative People, Culture & Diversity team, you’ll play a key role in keeping the employee lifecycle running smoothly. 

You’ll provide high-quality coordination and administrative support across a broad range of People & Culture functions, including: 

  • Maintaining accurate employee records and documentation in line with compliance requirements. 
  • Coordinating learning and development activities including, inductions, regular training and the annual training calendar 
  • Acting as the key administrator and subject matter expert for Employment Hero, maintaining accurate employee records, supporting users, troubleshooting and developing the system’s capabilities 
  • Monitoring mandatory qualifications, WWCCs, Police Checks, licences, visas and other compliance requirements 
  • Supporting employee recognition and engagement initiatives, including   Burdekin’s Shine Awards and Culture Club  
  • Supporting reporting, people metrics, engagement surveys and process improvement 
  • Providing general support to the overall People & Culture team including recruitment, workforce scheduling and general employee queries. 

About you 

You’re super organised, proactive and people-focused, with a strong eye for detail. You’ll be comfortable juggling competing priorities, working independently and collaborating with employees and managers across the organisation. You’ll enjoy a team environment where team members assist each other wherever required to meet the needs of the business. You’ll bring:

 

  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative role within a People & Culture/HR team 
  • Experience using Employment Hero or a similar HRIS 
  • Strong computer literacy in MS Office suite, teams and SharePoint 
  • Knowledge of the Fair Work Act, SCHADS Award and relevant employment legislation 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • The ability to build positive relationships at all levels 
  • Discretion, sound judgement and professional integrity 
  • The ability to manage confidential information 
  • A proactive, action-focused approach 
  • The ability to initiate and co-ordinate multiple projects within set guidelines. 
  • A genuine commitment to employee wellbeing and a positive workplace culture.  Experience in the community services sector will be highly regarded.
