We are seeking a passionate, creative, organised and experienced Diversional Therapist / Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator to lead our Leisure and Lifestyle program and team.
About the role
This is a full-time, Monday-to-Friday leadership position responsible for overseeing the delivery of Buckland’s Leisure and Lifestyle program.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead and support the Diversional Therapy and Leisure and Lifestyle team, coordinate volunteers and student placements, and develop innovative, person-centred programs that enhance residents’ psychological, physical, emotional and social wellbeing.
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following;
- Experience in Diversional Therapy, Leisure and Lifestyle or a related field
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence using technology and digital platforms
- Knowledge of person-centred care and the Aged Care Quality Standards
- A relevant Certificate IV qualification — desirable
- A current First Aid and CPR certificate — desirable
- Musical, craft or gardening skills — favourably considered
Your duties and responsibilities will include the following;
- Leading, supervising and supporting the DT/DTA and Leisure and Lifestyle team, including coordinating daily duties, activities and workloads
- Designing, developing and maintaining monthly activity calendars and programs
- Planning individual and group activities, events, entertainment and outings
- Coordinating volunteers and student placements
- Using technology to create engaging activities and professional digital resources
- Building positive relationships with residents, families and the multidisciplinary team
- Maintaining program documentation, evaluations and regulatory compliance
