About the Role

This 2‑year fixed‑term, part‑time role (0.7 EFT) offers the chance to step into a dynamic, purpose‑driven position that makes a real impact in the lives of men, women and children across South West Victoria. As Brophy’s Family Violence Practitioner, you’ll deliver a mix of group work, counselling, risk assessment, safety planning and case management across a suite of evidence‑based programs, including Men’s Behaviour Change, Caring Dads, Shark Cage, Family Safety & Mother Contact, and more.

This is a role for someone who thrives in complex, meaningful practice. You’ll work flexibly across programs, make sound decisions in challenging moments, and bring a calm, confident presence to crisis situations. You’ll support men to become safer partners and fathers, walk alongside women and children experiencing family violence, and contribute to a coordinated, whole‑of‑family approach that strengthens safety and wellbeing.

You’ll be part of a passionate, skilled team that values collaboration, reflective practice and continuous learning. Daily and weekly clinical governance meetings, supervision, training and team planning days ensure you’re supported to deliver high‑quality, trauma‑informed, gender‑aware practice.

Do your skills include:

• Demonstrated understanding of the gendered nature of family violence. 
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the theoretical frameworks underpinning of family violence including gender, feminist analysis, human rights and social justice. 
• Demonstrated understanding of the impact of trauma on women and children. 
• Demonstrated ability to provide clinical assessment, intervention and treatment to women and children who have or are experiencing family violence and to male perpetrators of family violence. 

Are your credentials:

• A minimum qualification of a sector recognised and accredited Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent in line with the mandatory minimum qualifications (Rec 209) (see Mandatory minimum qualifications | Safe and Equal). 
• A Graduate Certificate in Family Violence, or equivalent NTV‑recognised credentials, is preferred or willingness to complete this qualification is supported. 
• A current Drivers Licence.
