Description

We support young people and their children who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness, to secure and maintain housing, address physical and mental health challenges, establish successful relationships and support networks, and access pathways to education and employment. This position supports our mission by supporting the Research and Evaluation Lead and the Quality Research and Innovation Senior Manager to deliver effective and evidence-informed services to young people and their families. This position supports monitoring, evaluation, and learning across BYS programs, enabling data-driven insights, quality reporting, and continuous improvement.

You’ll be a great candidate for this role if you:

  • Have a sound knowledge of evaluation planning tools such as program logics, theories of change, stakeholder mapping, situational or problem analysis, indicator development, and design of quantitative data collection tools.
  • Have strong quantitative data cleaning and analysis skills, including excellent attention to detail.
  • Are committed to achieving social justice and understanding the needs of young people and young families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Social Sciences, or Business, or comparable qualification OR substantial demonstrated experience in a related field.
  • Have advanced Excel skills and are able to clean, interpret, and explain data to both expert and non-expert audiences.
  • Can demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal communication, collaborative and organised, with a solutions-focused mindset and ability to manage competing priorities independently.

Given the work that we do there will be a few non-negotiables. You’ll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement:

  • A Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card].
  • A National Coordinated Criminal History Check [Police Check].
  • Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases – Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella [Chicken Pox], and Pertussis [Whooping Cough].
