We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team.

This newly created position is ideal for a senior veterinary nurse who enjoys mentoring others, leading by example, and contributing to a positive and efficient clinic environment while still remaining hands-on within the nursing team.

This role is available as a permanent part-time position (33 hours per week) or may be offered as a full-time position for the right candidate. To be considered for this role, applicants must:

  • Have completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • Have more than 5 years of veterinary nursing experience
  • Have formal or informal leadership experience within a veterinary clinic environment

About the Role

As Head Veterinary Nurse, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the clinic and assisting with the development of the nursing team. This is a hands-on position that requires confidence across all areas of veterinary nursing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and mentoring the nursing team Assisting with staff training and onboarding Maintaining high standards of patient care and clinic workflow Working collaboratively with the veterinary and management team Surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring Nurse consulting and client communication Reception duties where required

Non-Negotiable Requirements

Applicants must be willing and able to:

  • Participate fully in the nursing roster
  • Work at least one late night per week
  • Participate in the weekend roster
  • Confidently cover all areas of the nursing roster, including: – Reception – Nurse consulting – Surgical and hospital nursing
  • Train and support other team members
