The opportunity
We are looking for a Team Leader, Income Coordination to lead Bridge Housing’s rent review function and support initiatives that improve financial inclusion outcomes for our residents.
This is a varied leadership role combining people leadership, operational delivery, continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement. You will support your team to deliver a fair, accurate and responsive rent review service while identifying opportunities to improve access to financial support and services.
What a day in the role might look like
No two days will be exactly the same, but you may be:
- Leading and supporting the Rent Review team, including coaching, workload planning, performance support and capability development
- Overseeing the delivery of accurate and timely rent reviews across social and affordable housing programs
- Monitoring quality, compliance and service outcomes, and identifying practical process improvements
- Supporting staff to navigate complex or challenging resident interactions through reflection, guidance and debriefing
- Developing initiatives that improve residents’ access to financial services and help maximise their income
- Building productive relationships with government, community and financial support organisations
- Using frontline insights, data and feedback to strengthen services and manage emerging risks
- Embedding Bridge Housing’s Customer Service Charter, values and Management Operating System in everyday team practices
The role leads the rent review function, contributes to financial inclusion initiatives, develops external partnerships and provides daily leadership to frontline employees working in a complex service environment.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for an experienced and supportive people leader who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, resident-focused approach.
You will bring:
- Knowledge of community housing rent policy and rent-setting requirements
- Experience with rent reviews, income assessments or a comparable regulated service
- Knowledge of Centrelink and Centrepay processes relating to rental payments
- The ability to coach and develop employees, manage performance and foster a safe and inclusive team culture
- Strong planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Clear and respectful communication, including the ability to explain complex information in an accessible way
- Confidence working with legislation, policies, procedures, systems and quality controls
- The ability to build trusted relationships across teams and with external partners
- A commitment to continuous improvement, inclusion and high-quality resident services
