About the Role

Based in our Adelaide office, this is a hands-on Finance Officer role with real variety. You’ll play a key role in coordinating accurate monthly and ad hoc payroll processes, checking employee data, timesheets, leave, allowances, deductions and final pay calculations before they are processed, while also supporting purchasing and administration across our Adelaide office and Honeymoon operations.

It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys structure, accuracy and getting things done, while working closely with finance, operations, HR, suppliers and external advisors in a growing resources business.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinating monthly and ad hoc payroll activities, including checking employee records, timesheets, leave balances, allowances, deductions, superannuation details and final pay calculations for accuracy before payroll is processed.
  • Following up payroll queries, missing approvals or discrepancies with employees, leaders, HR, finance and external payroll providers to ensure issues are resolved promptly and confidentially.
  • Supporting purchasing and procurement processes, including requisitions, purchase orders, supplier follow-up and vendor onboarding.
  • Maintaining accurate finance, payroll, contract, asset and administration records.
  • Liaising with internal teams, suppliers, payroll providers, accountants and other external advisors.
  • Supporting compliance with internal controls, company policies and statutory obligations including Fair Work, Superannuation, PAYG and Payroll Tax.
  • Identifying ways to improve finance and administration processes so the team can work more efficiently and accurately.

About You

You’ll bring solid experience in finance, payroll, accounts or administration, with the confidence to manage detail, deadlines and confidential information in a busy environment.

  • Experience coordinating payroll, purchasing, accounts or finance administration activities.
  • Sound understanding of payroll processes and statutory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy with employee and financial records.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and finance or payroll systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted working relationships across the business.
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience with ERP platforms such as Pronto, SAP or similar, and payroll in a rostered/FIFO mining environment, will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with Employment Hero advantageous
  • Applicants must hold full Australian work rights.
  • Pre‑employment medical assessments and National Police Clearance will be required.

Occasional travel to site may be required.
