Are you an experienced Housing Officer, Tenancy Manager or Property Manager looking to make a meaningful difference in the community housing sector? We are supporting our client, Churches of Christ to find a proactive and experienced Housing Officer to join their Housing Programs team. This is a predominantly office-based position in Kenmore, where you’ll work closely with tenants and support staff while managing a diverse residential housing portfolio.

About the Role

Reporting to the Housing Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a community housing portfolio, including:

• Managing tenancy allocations and eligibility assessments
• Supporting tenants and resolving tenancy-related issues
• Rent and arrears management
• Managing anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches
• Conducting routine property inspections
• Coordinating responsive and planned maintenance
• Maintaining accurate tenancy and property records
• Ensuring compliance with relevant housing legislation and policies
• Working closely with internal teams, contractors and community stakeholders

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in residential tenancy management, community housing, social housing, public housing, or property management
• Strong working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA legislation knowledge)
• Experience working within a legislative and compliance-driven environment
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with tenants, contractors and stakeholders
• Strong administration and computer skills
• A current driver’s licence

Highly Regarded

• Previous community or social housing experience
• Certificate IV in Social Housing, Community Services or similar qualification
• Experience supporting vulnerable or disadvantaged communities
• Knowledge of housing programs, tenancy legislation and property maintenance processes
