The Opportunity
Bishopp is seeking an experienced QHSE Coordinator to take a hands-on lead in the continued refinement, improvement and adoption of our established Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System.
This role combines strong practical QHSE knowledge with digital systems capability, including SharePoint, and direct engagement with our operational teams. You will improve systems and workflows, support safe working practices, coach and educate employees and contractors, and help ensure QHSE requirements are practical and embedded in how work is performed.
The role is based at Eagle Farm, with regular engagement across our operational and field teams. We currently envisage approximately 30–35 hours per week but are flexible on working arrangements for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the ongoing refinement, improvement and practical adoption of the QHSE Management System.
- Maintain and improve digital QHSE systems, SharePoint workflows, registers, reporting and controlled documentation.
- Develop and update QHSE policies, procedures, management plans, SWMS, risk assessments, forms and supporting records.
- Conduct workplace inspections, field verifications and work practice reviews to confirm system effectiveness and safe working practices.
- Lead or support incident, hazard and near-miss investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed out.
- Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 readiness, audits and improvement activities.
- Coach and support employees, supervisors and contractors to understand and practically apply QHSE requirements.
- Identify knowledge or capability gaps and deliver practical training, toolbox talks and guidance.
- Monitor QHSE performance, identify improvement opportunities and work with operational teams to implement practical and sustainable solutions.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Strong practical experience in QHSE, WHS, quality, environmental, compliance, audit or management systems within an operational environment.
- Hands-on experience personally leading the implementation, refinement or improvement of a digital QHSE, WHS or compliance management system.
- Strong working knowledge of SharePoint, including document libraries, lists, permissions, metadata, version control and workflows.
- Experience working directly with operational teams to improve safe working practices and QHSE outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, educate and influence employees, supervisors and contractors.
- Sound understanding of risk management and the practical application of management systems.
- Familiarity with high-risk work activities such as construction, working at heights, traffic management, plant, lifting, electrical or rail-related work.
- Strong follow-through, attention to detail and the ability to independently progress actions and improvements.
Qualifications in WHS, Quality, Environmental Management, Construction or a related discipline are desirable, along with internal auditing or incident investigation training.
