Description

Lead one of NSW’s largest Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and make a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities across the Mid North Coast.

Biripi Aboriginal Corporation Medical Centre is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Executive Officer to drive strategic growth, strengthen community outcomes, and lead a high-performing organisation through its next phase of development.

About the Role:

The Chief Executive Officer directly reports to the Biripi Board and is the senior executive responsible for leading and managing the organisation. The CEO provides the visionary leadership, overall strategic direction, and operational oversight of the organisation to ensure the achievement of strategic goals and uphold the mission.

The key objectives of the role include:

  • Lead the organisation’s strategic direction, growth, and long-term sustainability.
  • Drive high-performing, culturally strong, and financially sustainable operations.
  • Partner with the Board to deliver strategic priorities and effective governance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government, community, Aboriginal organisations, funders, and key stakeholders.
  • Foster a values-driven culture that supports workforce development, leadership, and Indigenous succession.
  • Ensure excellence in service delivery, compliance, risk management, and organisational performance.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for innovation, growth, partnerships, and funding to strengthen organisational impact.

Essential Criteria:

  • Confirmation of Aboriginality.
  • Post Graduate tertiary qualification/s in Business, Commerce, Management, Finance, Health or similar discipline.
  • Extensive experience in management at a senior leadership preferably with an Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation (ACCO)
  • A proven executive leader with experience leading complex organisations with strong commercial, financial and strategic acumen.
  • Demonstrated success working with Boards and governance frameworks.
  • Experience leading organisational growth, transformation, or service expansion.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and government relations capability.
  • A commitment to Aboriginal community advancement and self-determination.
  • High level of computer literacy and sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office software as a minimum.
  • Ability to hold all relevant security clearances such as National Police Check, Working with Children clearance and a current, valid driver’s license (minimum of Class “c” or equivalent).
