About the opportunity

An exciting casual opportunity has arisen for a Vertebrate Pest Field Technician to provide vertebrate pest and wildlife management within the South-East Queensland team. You will work on projects in SEQ, northern NSW and with the opportunity for occasional away work. 

The person we seek should have a strong interest in vertebrate pest management programs and animal trapping. The successful applicant will be provided internal training and be fully supported by technical staff and resources.

In this role you will perform, but not be limited to the following:

• Feral animal management
• Capturing, relocating and/or euthanising animals
• Breeding/habitat assessment and management
• Wildlife monitoring
• Data collection 
• Client liaison and relationship building
• Meeting and contributing to high company ethics and safety standards

About you

The desirable skills to be successful in this role: 

• Experience with a range of invasive animal management techniques
• Skilled in lethal and non-lethal control programs
• Knowledge of trapping animals
• Skills handling wildlife
• Knowledge of native wildlife management
• Sound animal behavioural knowledge
• A self-starter, reliable and highly motivated
• Ability to work unsupervised
