Our ecology team of 40+ professionals is supported by strong mentorship, flexible working arrangements and genuine career development opportunities. We offer competitive salaries, paid professional memberships, and benefits including overtime and time in lieu.

We work across Defence, government, resources and renewables, tackling complex environmental challenges and helping shape sustainable outcomes across Australia.

If you want to be part of a team that values Integrity, Teamwork, Safety, Client Success and Indigenous Pathways, and be involved in projects that go beyond compliance to create lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.

About the opportunity:

This is your opportunity to step into a dynamic ecology role with real variety, responsibility and impact.

You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of projects, with a balanced mix of field and office work (approximately 50/50). From local surveys through to drive-in field programs and fly-in/fly-out projects, no two weeks look the same.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead ecological projects from initial scope and client engagement through to delivery
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver multi-disciplinary fauna and flora field surveys

  • Apply your knowledge of environmental legislation to support approvals and compliance
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, impact assessments and approvals documentation

You’ll be part of a collaborative, experienced team, with the autonomy to take ownership of your projects while being supported in your ongoing development.

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working across both field and consulting environments, thrives on variety, and is motivated to deliver high-quality environmental outcomes.

Why you’re a good match:

You’re a practical, motivated ecologist who enjoys both fieldwork and consulting, and is ready to take the next step in your career.

You’ll bring:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or similar
  • 3+ years’ experience delivering fauna and/or flora surveys in QLD (Brigalow Belt experience highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of relevant Commonwealth and State environmental legislation
  • Experience designing and delivering surveys within threatened species and ecological communities
  • Confidence preparing ecological reports and supporting approvals processes
  • Exposure to consulting environments, or a strong desire to build project management capability

You’ll also be:

  • Comfortable working across both field and office environments
  • Proactive, organised and able to manage competing priorities
  • Confident engaging with clients and working as part of a team
  • Willing to travel and undertake fieldwork as required

Requirements:

  • Current driver’s licence
  • White Card
  • First Aid Certificate
