The Opportunity
This role can be based in either our Brisbane or Sydney location’s, supporting 27+ sites across Australia and New Zealand. We are seeking a Senior Data & Power BI Developer to join our ICT team on a 6 month contract, with the potential for extension. Lead the delivery of enhancements to BRG’s ArmourLytics reporting and analytics environment by shaping business requirements, integrating additional data sources into the Operational Data Store (ODS), and developing high-quality Power BI solutions. The role will operate as the principal hands-on delivery resource and progressively transfer capability to the internal team.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Gather and translate business requirements into actionable reporting and analytics solutions.
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports and data models that deliver meaningful business insights.
- Build and enhance Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL data integrations to support a scalable reporting environment.
- Ensure data accuracy, performance, security and governance across reporting and analytics platforms.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-value reporting outcomes.
- Support documentation, training and knowledge transfer to build internal capability and ongoing system ownership.
About You
You will bring:
- Extensive experience delivering end-to-end Business Intelligence and analytics solutions.
- Advanced Power BI, DAX, Power Query and data modelling skills.
- Strong SQL, Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL experience.
- Proven experience integrating multiple data sources and developing reliable ETL/data pipeline solutions.
- Ability to lead stakeholder workshops and translate business needs into practical reporting and analytics outcomes.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- A pragmatic, commercially focused approach with a passion for delivering measurable business value.
Desirable:
- Experience with Pronto Xi, IBM Informix, Cognos Analytics or similar ERP environments.
- Experience across sales, inventory, procurement, finance or operational reporting environments.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Copilot, Azure AI or related Microsoft analytics technologies.
- Experience within distribution, wholesale, manufacturing or building products industries.
