community-controlled primary health care service operating across Rockhampton
and Central Queensland for more than 30 years. We provide comprehensive,

About the Role
The Communications & Engagement Officer delivers Bidgerdii’s marketing, communications and
community engagement activities, promoting our services and strengthening
connections with the community. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications
Team Leader, you will work collaboratively across the organisation to develop
engaging content, coordinate communication campaigns and support community
engagement initiatives that reflect Bidgerdii’s values.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and deliver marketing and communications campaigns
- Develop engaging content for social media, website, newsletters and internal communications
- Manage Bidgerdii’s day-to-day social media presence and digital communications
- Coordinate community events, stakeholder engagement activities and health promotion
initiatives.
- Prepare media releases, promotional materials and organisational communications
- Maintain website content and communication calendars
- Monitor digital engagement and provide campaign reporting
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure communications are culturally
appropriate, accurate and aligned with organisational priorities
About You
You are values-driven and passionate about improving outcomes for Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander communities.
You will bring:
- Qualification in Communications, Marketing, Media, Public Relations or related discipline (or
equivalent experience)
- Demonstrated experience in content development and campaign coordination
- Strong written communication skills across diverse audiences
- Experience managing social media platforms and digital content
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated understanding of culturally appropriate communication practices
- Experience in the health or community sector
- Experience supporting behaviour change campaigns
- Familiarity with digital analytics tools
Requirements
Current QLD C Class Driver Licence
Current Blue Card, or willingness to obtain
Satisfactory Police Criminal History Check
Willingness to attend occasional community events outside standard business hours
