Lead Quality Excellence Across a Growing Australian Manufacturer
BFX Furniture is one of Australia’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of education, commercial and government furniture solutions. As we continue to grow, we’re seeking an experienced Quality & Compliance Manager to lead our quality assurance and quality control function across manufacturing, warehousing and supply chain operations.
This is a leadership role for a quality professional who is passionate about continuous improvement, defect prevention and building a culture where quality is everyone’s responsibility.
About the Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for developing, leading and continuously improving BFX’s quality systems, standards and performance. You will lead a cross-functional Quality Control team and work closely with Production, Supply Chain and Research & Development teams to ensure quality is embedded from product design through to customer delivery.
Your focus will be to drive right-first-time quality, reduce defects and rework, improve customer satisfaction and ensure consistent compliance with BFX quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Lead Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement – Develop, maintain and enhance BFX’s quality assurance and quality control framework, ensuring compliance with quality standards while driving defect reduction, operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.

Manage Quality Performance & Risk – Oversee inspections, non-conformance management, customer quality issues and warranty claims, using data-driven root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve product quality and customer outcomes.

Embed Quality Across Products & Operations – Partner with Production, Supply Chain and Product Development teams to ensure quality is built into product design, manufacturing processes, new product introductions and process improvements.

Lead Team Capability & Governance – Coach and develop the Quality Control team, promote a culture of quality accountability, maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure alignment with safety and compliance requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Proven experience in a Quality Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Lead or similar manufacturing leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, defect prevention and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the business.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience working within production, manufacturing, engineering or product development environments.
Desirable
- Formal training in Quality Management, Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement.
- Trade, engineering or tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Experience within furniture, cabinetry, joinery, upholstery or related manufacturing industries.
